According to the '2024 Business Demography Statistics (Provisional)' released by the National Data Agency (formerly Statistics Korea) in October 2025, the survival rate of newly established enterprises in 2022 after one year stood at 64.4%. In other words, more than one out of every five companies disappears before passing its first year. According to the same statistics, the 5-year survival rate of enterprises established in 2018 was merely 36.4%.
